Audi sees more growth from smaller towns
One out of every three vehicles that German luxury car
maker Audi sold in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh between January and
November this year was in smaller cities and towns.
The
contribution of B and C class cities, a list that includes Karimnagar,
Warangal, Bhimavaram, Guntur, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam, was between
30-32 per cent. This figure, according to Rajiv M.Sanghvi, managing
director, Audi Hyderabad, was around 27 per cent in the corresponding
period of 2014.
Their rate of growth is accelerated
in comparison to that in A class cities, he said. Audi sold 508 vehicles
this year till November in the two States, an overall growth of 11 per
cent.
Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam accounted for sale of 390 and 118 vehicles respectively.
Mr. Sanghvi was speaking at the launch of the all new SUV Audi Q7 in Hyderabad on Monday.
Fitted
with a powerful 45 TDI (3.0 TDI) engine, the SUV weighs 325 kg less
that its predecessor and offers 22 per cent improvement in fuel
efficiency. The Hyderabad ex-showroom price of the Q7 Premium Plus is
Rs.73.60 lakh, while that of the fully-loaded top variant Q7 Technology
is Rs.79 lakh.
Stating that launch of the new Q7 was
much anticipated, he said the dealership has nine bookings for the SUV.
With the B and C class cities poised to become the growth drivers,
customer meets and road shows were being conducted in such locations
efforts to tap the potential.
