Cops hunt for ISIS links to Karnataka town

An alleged sympathiser of the terror outfit ISIS has come under the scanner with the Karnataka police trying to ascertain whether he motivated aISIS propaganda material was found in possession of Sirazuddin which he allegedly circulated among youthsny local youths to join the organisation.
A day after a senior official of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) was arrested in Rajasthan for being an alleged sympathiser of the terror outfit ISIS, his hometown Kalburgi (Gulbarga), has come under the scanner with the Karnataka police trying to ascertain whether he motivated any local youths to join the organisation.
On Thursday and Friday, the police met family members of Mohammed Sirazuddin in Kalburgi, 560 kms northwest of Bengaluru, and inquired about his activities. "Preliminary inquiry revealed that he is a resident of MB Nagar in Kalburgi. We are gathering more information about him and his friends in the locality," said Kalburgi Deputy Commissioner Vipul Bansal.
According to the police, his family members are unaware of his alleged sympathy for the ISIS. "They claimed that Sirazuddin is innocent and may have been trapped. We are sending our preliminary report to our counterparts in Rajasthan. We expect them to visit Kalburgi shortly for more information about his activities," sources in the Karnataka police, said.
