Jagran Prakashan Ltd organized the annual
Jagran Forum on December 10 in Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi. The theme
this year was ‘Democracy and Inclusive Development’.
The forum was
inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was attended
by the who’s who from the political circuit and opinion makers. Prime
Minister in his keynote address mentioned that “a vibrant democracy
requires people’s participation”.
After the inaugural session of PM Modi,
Chief Ministers of four states Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Delhi and
Chhattisgarh participated in ‘Small States and People Oriented
Development’ session.
Chief Ministers of MP and UP enlightened the audience with their perspective on inclusive development in different sessions.
Other notable speakers included Highway and
Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. A
special session on Religion & Culture was conducted in which Poet
Munavvar Rana, Authors Amish Tripathi and Tarek Fatah participated.
The sessions were moderated by Jairam Ramesh, Swapan Dasgupta, Malini Awasthi and Dibang.
With the PM, CMs from 6 states and 2
Cabinet Ministers and noted Poets and Authors and Commentators
participating, this was one of the most power packed day of the year
when policy makers came forward to engage in a dialogue on Inclusive
Development and its dimensions in the context of contemporary Indian
Democracy.
Jagran Prakashan’s CMD and Editorial
Director, Mahendra Mohan Gupta, CEO and Editor-in-Chief Sanjay Gupta
and Director Shailesh Gupta were present at the event along with several
dignitaries.
The proceedings of the Forum were telecast
