Time, a Time Inc. brand, has announced the
creation of the Time India Awards, recognition of leadership in Indian
manufacturing. McKinsey & Company is the knowledge partner on this
project. The Time India Award winners will be announced on February 13,
2016 in Mumbai and will be presented to three leaders in the categories
of innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable manufacturing.
Time will release a short list of three
finalists in each category at the World Economic Forum in Davos,
Switzerland in January. Time will work closely with McKinsey &
Company to identify the shortlist, and a panel of elite judges,
including global business leaders, will determine the winners.
“These are dynamic and challenging times
for every economy and India is responding proactively and
progressively,” said Norman Pearlstine, Chief Content Officer, Time
Inc., who will present the awards in February. “We are pleased to be
working with McKinsey to identify the people and companies that are
changing the Indian economy, which is the fastest growing in the world,
from the inside out.”
“The Indian economy is likely to be a
bright spot of growth on the global firmament in the coming decade,”
said Rajat Dhawan, Senior Director at McKinsey & Company in India.
“Manufacturing in India has the potential to power this growth, and in
the process transform millions of lives. We are delighted to partner
with Time in this seminal initiative to recognize the spirit of
innovation, excellence and entrepreneurship in Indian manufacturing.”
