New Delhi, Oct 14: Days after political leaders questioned prime
minister Narendra Modi's silence on the Dadri lynching episode, Modi has
finally spoken out about the incident.
In an interview to Ananda Bazar Patrika, Modi said that episodes such as
the lynching of a man in Dadri and the controversy around Pakistani
singer Ghulam Ali was sad.
"Dadri incident or the incident against the Pakistani singer is sad
and unwelcome. But what is the role of the central government in it?"
he questioned.
Modi also went on to add the BJP does not support any such incidents.
"It is the opposition that is accusing BJP of being communal , but in
doing so are they not pracitsing politics of polarisation?" Modi
questions.
Meanwhile, BJP President Amit Shah too in an interview to a news channel
said that what happened in Dadri was wrong. "The lynching of a Muslim
man over beef-eating rumours in Dadri in Uttar Pradesh was wrong and the
perpatrators should be punished," said Shah.
